Windows Vista Beta1英文測試版是微軟在2005年7月22日發(fā)布的。剛剛網(wǎng)上公布的Vista硬件要求可以參見《Windows
Vista所需硬件要求詳細(xì)曝光!》Vista Beta1英文測試版沒有提供在DOS下安裝程序。Windows Vista Beta1英文測試版大小為2.46G因此用CD是無法刻的因為容量不夠，所以必須要用DVD刻錄機(jī)才行這點要注意。

安裝前請務(wù)必用紙筆記下安裝序列號。將光驅(qū)設(shè)為第一啟動盤，放入Windows Vista Beta1英文測試版安裝光盤到光驅(qū)，重新啟動電腦，當(dāng)出現(xiàn)如下畫面時快速按回車鍵。

出現(xiàn)上畫面時，在3秒內(nèi)要按回車鍵，才能啟動光盤安裝，否則會啟動失敗。安裝啟動后首先出現(xiàn)如下。

選擇“Install now”進(jìn)行安裝。

隨即出現(xiàn)如上圖所示的等待畫面，畫面提示正在啟動安裝程序。

在“Product key”中輸入序列號。從上圖可知,安裝過程分三步∶第一步收集數(shù)據(jù)、第二步安裝過程、第三步啟動系統(tǒng)。
第一步完成后會重新啟動，以后就自動安裝了，不再需要你參與，與安裝XP對比要簡單很多。

許可協(xié)議，不用多說，只有同意了。按“Tab”選擇鍵，選擇“I accept the terms（required to use Windows）”后按回車鍵。

這里是設(shè)置安裝選項∶安裝路徑、計算機(jī)名。而在XP中常見的用戶名、安裝語言、鍵盤種類、時區(qū)則因為是測試版本，所以這些選項不能更改。

上圖為選擇安裝系統(tǒng)所用的分區(qū)，并同時可對分區(qū)進(jìn)行∶使用(按R鍵)、刪除(按D鍵)、格式化(按F鍵)、新建(按N鍵)、擴(kuò)充(按E鍵)、加載(按L鍵)等操作。上圖列出了各分區(qū)的大小和可用空間。我要用C盤來安裝系統(tǒng)，但C盤可用空間只有2,490M(剛安裝完成時已用空間為2,540M），是不夠空間的，所以要格式化C盤?，F(xiàn)在默認(rèn)選中了C盤（橙色標(biāo)示部分）按“F”鍵準(zhǔn)備格式化C盤。
